A. Subject to the specific
provisions mentioned against each course in order to be eligible
for admission into any Post-Graduate course, a candidate should
have passed three year Degree Examination in Arts/Science/ Commerce
of F.M. University or any examination recognized equivalent thereto
by Academic Council with Honours in the concerned subject or having
the concerned subject as a pass (Core) subject with 50% marks
in the aggregate at graduation level excluding Foundation and
Ancillary Courses.
B. Candidates who have appeared
at the qualifying examinations and the results there of are awaited
are also eligible to apply. However, they have to submit the Provisional
Certificate and Mark sheets of the qualifying examinations before
the Entrance Test schedule; otherwise their case for selection
shall not be considered.
C. In case a candidate wants
to apply for admission to more than one Department, he/she can
do so in filling up separate forms on payment of dues and appearing
at tests conducted by the Departments.
D. ELIGIBILITY
CRITERIA IN P.G. COURSES.
I. BIOSCIENCES
& BIOTECHNOLOGY
a) Honours in Botany, Zoology,
Biotechnology, Micro-biology, Biochemistry and Fisheries.
b) Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology
with Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics as pass subjects with 50%
marks in aggregate.
c) Graduates (as in a and
b, as shown above) including Medical, Agriculture, Pharmacology,
Marine Biology and Engineering are eligible for admission to Biotechnology.
d) Graduates with Honours
or Pass in Physics and Chemistry with Biology in +2 level are
eligible for admission to Biotechnology.
II. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
a) Honours in Agricultural
Science/ Botany/ Chemistry/ Environmental Science/ Environmental
Engineering/ Geology/ Physics/ Zoology.
b) Having any of the above
subjects as pass subject with 50% marks in aggregate.
III. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Admission/Selection will be based on the score point secured by
the candidate at the JEE Orissa or MAT conducted by AIMA. Vacant
seats thereafter, will be filled up by the common Entrance Test
conducted by the University. However, the candidates intending
to take admission through Entrance Test conducted by University
should apply to the University. The basic eligibility conditions
for such Entrance Test shall include (i) Honours in any subject
or 50% of marks in aggregate for pass students.
IV. INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION
TECHNOLOGY
a) B.A/ B.Sc. with Honours
in Mathmatics / Physics/ Statistics/ Electronics/ Computer Science/
Information Technology/ BCA or related areas may apply.
b) Candidates having any
of the above subjects as pass subject with 50% of marks in aggregate
may also apply.
V. POPULATION STUDIES
a) BA/B.Sc. with Hons. In
Mathematics / Statistics/ Anthropology/ Political Science/ Zoology/
Psychology/ Sociology/ Geography/ Economics may apply.
b) Candidates having any
one of these above subjects as pass subject with 50% of marks
in the aggregate may also apply.
